Curator Notes<SPAN STYLE="font-family:'Helvetica'">Across Time & Cultures: Ceramic Vessels from the Collection<BR/>Lora Robins Gallery of Design from Nature<BR/>September 20 to December 02, 2018<BR/>Painted in deep tones of cobalt around the body is a large foliate scroll of composite flowers, including lotus, peony, chrysanthemum, camellia, and hibiscus below a border of pendent ruyi (a talisman symbolizing power and good fortune) and scrolling flowers around the shoulder. The neck is collared with plantain leaves rising from a border of key-fret below pendent ruyi and a band of tumultuous waves at the mouth rim.<BR/></SPAN>
