Trained as an architectural draftsman, Arms sought to share his vision of architecture with his precise drawings and etchings, including many details such as this corbel at Stokesay Castle.
On the left is his preliminary drawing for the architectural detail. He would often create guidelines on the copper plate using rouge paper to trace his drawing onto the plate. This print is the third and final state of his etching of the carved corbel.
