In the harsh Arctic climate, the traditional Inuit diet consisted primarily of meat from whales, fish, seals, caribou, muskoxen, walrus, and even polar bears. The hides, bones, and fat from the animals could be made into clothing, blankets, tools, and oil among other uses.
